WHAT IS METHADONE?

Methadone is a prescription drug used as a treatment for those individuals with an opiate addiction. Methadone is a known narcotic that can stop some of the effects of Heroin and helps to manage withdrawal symptoms within 24 hours.

SYMPTOMS

 
An individual who is taking methadone will experience a number of symptoms such as excessive sweating, constipation, changes in weight (typically weight gain), and a feeling of being sedated. It is not unusual for these symptoms to decrease and eventually disappear after continued use.

WITHDRAWAL

 
An individual who is in withdrawal from Methadone may experience excessive seating, runny nose, stomach cramps, diarrhea, and muscle aches and tremors.
